Deccan Odyssey wins the title of “Asia’s Leading Luxury Train” for the fourth time. The ceremony was hosted by World Travel Awards in the `Oberoi Hotel, Delhi. WTA has emerged as a hallmark to measure the quality brilliance of industries engaged in hospitality, travel and tourism. The Wall Street Journal addresses WTA as “The Oscars of Travel Industry.” Other nominees for the same award in 2014 were Eastern and Oriental Express, Maharaja’s Express, Palace on Wheels, and The Golden Chariot. Deccan Odyssey was won under the same category previously, too, in the years 2010, 2011, and 2012.

 

 

This Indian luxury train is inspired by the lifestyle of the erstwhile Indian rulers. Besides 11 passenger carts (which consist of suites and rooms), this train has massage centers, a library, a steam bath area, a gymnasium, a beauty parlor, a business center, special suite coach for specially-abled people. The train is equipped with every facility a person can think of and that’s what made it a strong competitor. Deccan Odyssey covers ten journeys. The train stops over in India’s best tourists’ spots like Jaipur, Udaipur, Kutch, Ajanta caves, Goa, Mumbai, Shirdi, Sasan Gir, Delhi and Ahmedabad.
