GENERAL INFORMATION
Mentioned below are the answers to some of the frequently asked questions and general information to help you plan and research your luxury train trip on board Deccan Odyssey uncomplicated.
Cabins
The accommodation on board this luxury train is available in three categories: Deluxe Cabins queen-size beds (152X208cm), Deluxe Cabin attached twin beds (86X208cm) and Presidential Suite. Each compartment comes with wardrobe, electronic safe, attached toilet with running hot & cold water, channel music, intercom, wall to wall carpeting and shower etc. Electric Supply in the cabins is 240 Volts and 110 Volts in the bathrooms.
Dining
Dining on board the train during the entire duration of journey is offered in the 2 restaurants of Deccan Odyssey – Peshwa I and Peshwa II. Each dining car comes with a seating capacity of 42 passengers at a time.
Bar & Lounges
The train houses a bar and sitting lounge where guests could select from an array of home brands of wine and liquors. Lounge and bar of the train are ideally suited for relaxation, observation and getting to know your fellow travelers.
Rejuvenation
The Deccan Odyssey was the first train to introduce spa cum beauty salon on moving train. Guests could just to relax and rejuvenate with an array of rejuvenating therapies, beauty treatments, sauna and steam bath.
Business Car
A well equipped business car with facilities such as internet, PC, printer, fax and telephone is available on the Deccan Odyssey to add to the finesse of the business class traveling.
Pre & Post tour accommodation
It is usually advisable to book at least 1 day in a hotel before and after the date of your journey. The itinerary of the train lasts for 7 nights without a break and guest will spend the entire period of the itinerary either on board the train or doing the sightseeing tours of the destinations included in the itineraries.
International & Domestic Flights
The departure of the Deccan Odyssey train is from either Mumbai or Delhi depending upon the itinerary you choose. There are connecting flights to these cities from both international and domestic cities. We also offer airplane tickets from all major cities around the world along with domestic plane tickets.
Travel Insurance

It is required that you carry your personal travel insurance papers with you in order to be able to board the train and it is advisable that you carry your personal insurance document from your resident country for illness, injury, accident, death, loss of luggage and holiday cancellation.

Extensions

Dress Code
To maintain the high standard and exclusivity of this luxury train tour, it is advisable to wear smart casuals at all the time during your Deccan Odyssey train tour. It is also expected to wear formal dress during the dining on board to maintain the exclusive ambience. It is also advisable to carry your swimsuit as the itinerary include visit to several beaches.

Off Train Excursion
Carry light shoes as there's lot of sightseeing activities involved on foot. Giving alms to beggars/hawkers is strictly discouraged. Respecting local sentiments is also advised during trips to religious places. Cover as much skin as possible. Both men and women should keep their shoulders covered while visiting religious places.
Guides
An English speaking guide will always accompany you during your off-train excursions. Other language speaking guides could also be arranged for and has to be mentioned during the time of booking.
Transportations
Air conditioned transportations to and from attractions during the rail tour is provided free of cost to the guests.
Inclusions in Tariff
Dining, accommodation, transportation (sightseeing in ac coaches), English speaking guides, porter charges, entrance fees at the monuments and still camera fees are included in the tariff of Deccan Odyssey.
Exclusions in Tariff
The Deccan Odyssey tariff does not include any expenses of personal nature on and off the train, liquor, beverages, use of spa, telephone and business center facilities.
Minimum Passenger Requirement
In order to run, the train requires a certain minimum number of passengers. In case the numbers are not met, the journeys may either be postponed or cancelled. However the cost in such cases will be fully refunded.
